In today’s Scripture reading, Luke continues to describe the final journey of Jesus from Galilee to Jerusalem. The days for his being taken up are now fulfilled! The resurrection and ascension of Jesus can only be attained by first walking the path that leads to death! Understanding all that is ahead of Him, Jesus has resolutely and courageously determined to go forward and has steadfastly “set His face toward Jerusalem”! From Jesus Himself, the disciples learn, firsthand, , the cost of discipleship.
