A26 - 5th Sunday of Easter (Reading Format)

Today’s Gospel takes place at the time just before Jesus is to face the events which will lead to His death. Jesus is now in the upper Room of Jerusalem, consoling His disciples. He says: • Do not be afraid. • I am going to prepare a place for you. • I will come back again, and take you to Myself, so that, • Where I am, you may also be. • Where I am going, you know the Way ! Concluding the conversation, He says, “Whoever believes in Me, will do the works that I do, and will do greater works than these, because I am going to the Father!” How many times in our lives, do we need to hear Jesus say, “Do not be afraid!” How many times do we need to hear Jesus declare, “I am the Way!” We may have a great deal in common with the disciples, because they, too, seemed to need more explanation! Thomas is confused, and asks, “Master, we do not know where You are going; how can we know the way?” . . .
